Black Templar terminator sergeant/captain
Here is a mini I painted about a year ago, before my Space Wolf heavy flamer. I got it to have a terminator sergeant for Space Hulk 1st ed, but now I'm making "modern" BT terminator squads, and this one is way too small compared to the new terminators ! Well, it was my first attempt to paint black armors, I didn't like the most common technique (plain black + hard codex grey highlights), I wanted a "used" aspect, so after grey highlights (lines + light drybrush) on black, I washed the armor with gryphonne sepia, it added a nice brown shade, and created a nice transition between black and greys. Now I paint black armors in another way (more shadings, I apply many layers of a very diluted black over a white primer). I'm not very satisfied with my white shoulder pads, they are clean enough but without any shading, I need to work that. My next BT terminators will have black shoulder pads ;) . I didn't make the banner, I used the pole only as a handle... Perhaps, one day... But I'm looking for a good technique first. Comments welcome !
