Viktor Pendrake, Scholar Adventurer
This was a gift for a friend of mine who is a literature professor. He is also insanely into comics and pop culture. Since he more or less always has a book handy, I decided to customize Viktor Pendrake as his alter ego. In addition to the books stuffed in Pendrake's pockets, I added some weighty tomes from a GW Mordheim sprue. Clockwise from the sword, they are as follows: Lord of the Rings, a Marvel Comics Mighty Thor compilation (thus the hammer on the cover), an MLA Handbook (for lit nerds) and finally, an illustrated abecedary of comic heroes, open to the entry "B is for Batman" (thus the logo on the facing page). This was a real treat to paint.
