thanks for the input it's all welcome. i have considered painting the wolf as part of the cannon, wasn't sure if that would make it disapper a bit

That's some lovely sculpting. I tihnk, if anything, it was a mistake to paint it in "real" colours. I think it would have looked better painted as if it were a cast part of the cannon.
