Halmar, Young Wizard

Another mini I painted for one of my players in my D&D group. He wanted his guy to have red robes, with reddish-brown sleeves, black hair with a slight streak of red down the middle, holding an orange flame. I blended about 6-7 layers in the folds of the robe and this was my first serious attempt to try create a smooth transition from lower to higher levels in the folds of the robe. This was also my first attempt at OSL. Comments, suggestions, and advice most heartily welcome.

One thing you should do is thin your paints and use multiple layers. You may already do this, but to my eye it looks really thick. Paint the sand that you used as well, and IF you have some add static grass and some flocking. He looks really shiny as well. Use either a matte sealant or don't varnish him at all. Course you said this was for a game so I would use 1 maybe 2 coats of sealant. One of the mantras I keep seeing is deeper shadows and higher highlights! lol Hope this helps a little.

If you leave a low score, at least post some advice so I know how to improve.
