Cthulhu in red and green!

This is the second mini I've ever painted, a 20mm tall Cthulhu. Learning to do washes, layering, highlights. Compared to the first one I really like how this turned out. There is ofcourse a lot of room for improvement. All comments and critique is welcome. As a newbie I need feedback to improve. :)

How to get the paint to stay on the figure: Washing with soap, gray spray paint in thin layers, painting with acrylics and don't touch it anymore! Painted it with crappy acrylics intended for canvas. It can be done, but it's not recommended: the finnish is too shiny, painting is difficult and the paints cover badly. As you can see, the black acrylics and the gray primer has worn away at the base corners, as that's where I was holding it while painting. I really need to paint it again now that I'm better and have good paints. And maybe build a proper display base for it.

No Such Agency
This is a figure from the "Bag of Cthulhu" game pieces, isn't it? How did you get paint to stick to the vinyl-like plastic?
