Waywatcher on happy base

Here's another reposting of a model that wasn't on a base earlier. Did some heavy basework here, perhaps 2+ hours (was sort of introducing myself to a few techiniques.. winging it really ;)). However, I'm not entirely pleased with the way the treestump came out. If anyone has a good way of doing those I'd really like to hear it. Mine was just made out of a flattish roll of 2-part putty, which I then put the texture into with a knife. It looks pretty decent from the side, but I'm not happy with the rings of the tree that you can see from above. It doesn't look quite realistic enough. Anyway, I'd also like to hear any other comments you have ^o^

OK, it has been 6 months since your last mini posted here. Come on, we want to see more of your stuff! I love the tree stump base on this guy.

i think the treestump would have looked better... if it had a more natural form... meaning getting slightly thinner towards the top... besides a hint of some rootwork at the bottom would make it look better too. the prob is that your treestump can't be any smaller than that on top cause of the mini and it can't be bigger at the bottom cause of the base size. bummer! :) still looks ok though.
