Wardancer 01

Here's one of the guys from my tiger themed unit of wood elf wardancers. I like the way he turned out, though perhaps I could have done a little better on the blending on this model's pants, some of the other guys look a bit better. I'd like to hear some constructive criticism and comments on how I can improve, as I feel this guy is a pretty good show of the level my painting is at right now.

The gradient on the tiger pattern is very good. I agree the skin looks a little flat. Also, you may want to try some brown/black-lining to help seperate the sections (the loincloth almost disappears against the leggings). Good color selection, though.

thanks for the comment. I agree, that is something that I really need to work on. I've gotten better at blending and such, but my skin/hair still look rather flat.

I think I've seen two of these in a pic? yup- just looked- I still think learning how to do a good skin wash will bring you along way on your elves. Personally I use the 1:10 floor wax/water method and add 2 drops of dark brown, one of red, one of blue or green- thinner is better as you can always do more washes until you get the right effect
