Megalotoad, Reaper: Frog Deamon
This model did require some gap filling and resculpting, the base is also from scratch. More information about the construction and the basing can be found on my website: http://ink.warklawsdomain.com/?p=179 I had a lot of fun painting this model, and really got to work on my blending technique. While I can use more practice I am very happy with the results. I decided that since the model is representing a Megalotoad and not a Megalofrog, that I would use shades of brown for the skin and hide with any warts growing even darker. For the stomach I wanted to go fleshy to show off its girth, while not going too pink, so I decided on going from medium gray to bone white. I maintained these same colors, browns and greys, for most the model. However, to add a touch of contrast I did the mouth, tongue, and eyes in a purple which I feel really makes them stand out and gives a bit more of a monstrous effect as apposed to a real live docile toad, which funny enough is about the exact size of the model (well for the toads around here anyways, I am not sure about those mutant Cane toads that they have in Australia, yes I researched toads for this job). As usual I hope you enjoy the model, and please let me know your thoughts about it by commenting.
