Thrifty Keep

This was alot of fun putting together, and very inexpensive. The hill is made from 'pink insulation foam', covered with sand (swiped from my neighbors sandbox!) and painted. The actual keep is a cardboard tube that protected my lp tank from the grill. I modeled the top (which is removable with access to the second floor) with foamboard and more pink stuff. I spray painted the keep with a 'stone texture' paint that was leftover from another project. This was my first real try at terrain, and I have to say it was fun.

This is a really good scratch built piece of scenery. This would be perfect for a fantasy skirmish type game.

A cool trick with sand it to use brown ink on it- it'll really pop then. A wash over the building could make the cool bricks stand out too. Great first effort!!!
