Eldar Phoenix Lord Asurmen with freehand banner

Well, I wanted to paint some difficult banners - and here's my try: the two landscapes painted on the standard are freehand paintings. I chose them because the mini itself reminds me of Japanese style. The wraithbone on the base was sculpted by me. Also: another attempt at NMM. Hope you like this one, and any comments are of course welcome!

I think you'd find that if you used more extreme highlighting and shading for the nmm you'd have a better result. You are a freehand master, however the banner does not really fit with the rest of the model.

The painitng on the mini itself is superb, but I can't help feeling the banner lets it down. The eldar warrior has a sharp contrast which I love, but the banner artwork looks a little flat. Good work though.
