The writing on the scroll is sculpted on, so not much room for freehand. Like yourself, I'm a big fan of some of the older ranges. 1980's Citadel in particular.
Maybe a picture from a different angle? any work on the scroll? I like the old models myself. You can't beat the really old style models from games. Your painting is good and i like it.
