I think what Nv has in mind is that we are judging the figure, not the backgrounds. Unfortunately, without a smooth or at least bright background you can't make out the details around the edges of the figure.
My rating would be higher, but the paint in the background is just too distracting! At the very least, crop some of it out. It looks like a really nice job though.
