Monstrous Spider

I really enjoyed this spider from Heresy. It was fun figuring out how to put the thing together which way the legs should be etc... The assembly of this spider was really easy and only needed a little green stuff to fill in the gaps and things. The legs are pinned. There was some need to file the legs sockets to get them to fit right. I stuck with natural colors to give it a more realistic feel. I had taking some photographs of a spider in a cedar tree two years ago and used that as an example to follow. The display base is the top end of an old cedar post that had a really interesting shape. I then added two victims. The one laying on the top of the base is an old skeleton soldier that a friend painted and gave to me. The victim hanging on the side of the base is scratch built. I wrapped each in tissue paper and painted white. I hope you all like this as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Wow that things great, just found this whilst looking for inspiration to paint my own version. I've been debating this look or a black widow and I think you've just made my mind up. Now if only I could paint like that! Great base too!
