CMON18 - Candy & Cola in "Cola War"
I'm a bit surprised as to how well this turned out for me. Just half a week before, I was ready to throw the whole thing away in disgust! Candy has been tapped by the Powers That Be to stop the evil that dares walk their territory! Namely, the Rival Brand! With her trusty pal, Cola, she'll rid the world of this menace and stop the delivery of this foul poison to the populace! Candy & Cola are from Soda Pop Miniatures. The delivery man is from K-Line by Lionel (yes, the train people) from their Factory Figures pack. Originally, he held a hammer and chisel, but those were cleaned off, as well as his base. The hand truck is from that same pack. Both were repainted in the appropriate colors. The cans are sawed off bits of solid copper wire that were the right scale, while the boxes were designed in Microsoft Power Point, printed on card stock, then cut and folded. Had to touch up their edges a bit with some blue. You really can't see it, but the boxes even have an "open here" stripe, a nutritional label, and a bar code. The spilled drink is Woodland Scenics Realistic Water mixed with brown ink with a touch of brown paint. The red on top is the poor delivery man (so close to retiring, too!) bleeding out on his product. Candy and Cola are on their provided base, with a green stuff floor, while the delivery man is mounted on a supermarket rewards card (of course).
