Dwarf King

this is my latest mini, it is the dwarf king from GW i think it is reasonably . . . around a 4.5 but im not the decider of that :D i did my most successful NMM attempt on this model (still pretty bad though lol) the eyes and face are not up to the standard of the rest but that seems to be my biggest downfall. C&C welcome and so is any tips on how to improve.

You should practise with painting eyes. This dwarf looks like he would be suprised. A little bit more highlights on face and cloak. And a little bit shadows on his hair and beard.

I agree. this is probably a 4 to 4.5. First, your slotta base isn't assembled correctly and it is not based. Even just painting the base a uniform color would help. Second, the close up pic make your paint look fairly thick. Thinning even more will get you further. Third, crop out most of the background and try a sheet of paper or something solid behind the mini. This will limit the distraction from the figure. Fourth, the colored part of the eves should go from the top to the bottom of the socket. There are a few good and different ways to do things listed in the tutorials section. Finally, ask for comments in the "Discuss Submissions" section of the forums. Even better, start a new mini in the wip section and see what kind of advice you get.
