Last Stand of a Young Elf Lord (Amanthas Greyleaf)

I saw this beautiful Werner Klocke mini in the store, and I wondered why I had never seen many people attempt him. Brother, did I find out! So many incredibly hard to reach areas, took forever! Still, it's a great sculpt and I hope I even approached doing it justice. Please, any and all comments welcome. Thanks!

Gee, thanks you guys, I really, really appreciate your comments. I know he has some issues and I did think about putting something on the tabard, I just didn't want to go OT with the freehand. I couldn't even see the blend problems on the sword until I took the pic. :P Glyn, that's a good point about no gloves on a hot sword. Ouch! :D

The freehand work really catches my eye with this mini! The crane (?) looks awesome, but the lining on the inside seems too similar to the "horizon" of your armor plates... I think that is just a case of more practice with the NMM. The shading could be a bit smoother maybe, as some spots, liek the leg greave, appear to have a line across as opposed to subtle blending or shading if you will. Face looks very good and all of the details are picked out nicely. Werner is my favorite sculptor I think for Reaper, and you have captured lots of expression in the face. I read you were trying for a glowing hot sword, but somehow, I just don't buy it this go around. Maybe if it was cooler towards the hilt (since he does have bare hands) it might be more realistic looking though. I really like the snow effect as well. Overall, if you had some higher highlights on the cloth, and smoother blends on the NMM, it would be stunning! As it is, it is a very nice mini however and I would be pleased with the piece :D
