Strigoi

This is one of my first models. A strigoi vampire. I think its pretty good for one of my first minitiures. I have already painted another strigoi, it looks much better but i just don't have the camera to fotograph it. I will try to borrow one. (the one wich i made this foto's with was borrowd to...) sorry for the really bad removing of the background on the upper foto and for the not removing of the background on the lower foto.

As one person who thinks that thinning paints is not the answer to all the problems of humanity, (Although a thined paint or an "ink" is good for washes and highlights) I think the biggest problem is one of definition. There is a lot of detail on the mini even with the thick ink, that one doesn't see because of the lack of variation in the general color. Dark inks and some brighter drybrushed highlights would make this mini really stand out.

I know the paint is thick, i never heard of thinning when i started to paint this model. Thanx for the comment anyway.

hello, I give it a 6. I will be honest as this just my opinion. The paint itself is too thick, thus making your mini look chalcky. Try using thiner coats, and appplyin thin washes to achieve desired depth in the model. Dont be afraid to use dark washes in depressed regions of the model. This technique will bring more natural highlight to the raised areas, thus removing the need for excess paint. Good job though, as i know it is your first.
