I like the skin and scales. You could try thinning out your paint a bit more so its not so gritty. The yellow eye is very reptilian without a pupil, it gives a sense of a sort of "inner glow".
I wouldn't go that far, bandages, but it is definetly metallic/bronze and not wood.
I like the base but the mini could use some work. The yellow of the eye is nice but i'm missing a black dot for a pupil.
