Christmas Cheer

Painted for Reapercon 2009 Painting Competition in the Open Category. Received a Bronze Medal. I think my work on this was good, but oddly, I am most proud of the orange slices in the Wassail and the cinnamon stick in the goblet. The base turned out well, and the colors worked better than I had hoped. Simple, but effective. Please comment and leave constructive feedback. I am learning and would like honest opinions on where I need improvement. Thanks.

I like it. Your style is very clean, and you show a creative eye with your color choices and accents. The base is outstanding. Unfortunately, the orange slices and cinnamon stick don't show up so well in the pics, but they're a great idea. :) My only suggestion for improvement would be push your highlights and shades a bit. There's the beginnings of some good definition in the wing feathers, but not so much in her hair or her dress.
