IL-2 Shturmovik (actually flies!)

A balsa and plastic model of the famous WWII Soviet warplane. It is a rubber-band powered flying model (the fuselage is hollow--you can see in the inset where the band is hooked underneath the tailplane), which forced me to distort the wing and tail proportions somewhat, but was a fun challenge and certainly a bit off the beaten track.

No, the camo pattern I used is an adaptation of the modern "cookie-dough camouflage," and not a Soviet design at all. I just used the colors I had on hand--laziness!

Wow, that is cool. It's been a long time since I've seen a rubber band flyer, it's a bit nostalgic. :D It looks good too. Nice camo. Did the russians really use that type of desert camo?
