Fire and Ice GD 2006 Squad Winner

The style inspiration for this squad came from the miniatures and artwork of John Blanche. The inquisitor design was influenced by the Natalie Portman in 'V for Vendetta' and by the 'Sorcha' miniature by Privateer Press. Her torso comes from an imperial assasin, everything else is an original sculpture. The bases were an interesting challenge. They are individually cast from clear resin. Each has pieces of a painted zombie miniature inbedded under the surface to create the impression of corpses frozen beneath the ice. This squad won gold in the 40k Squad category at the Australian Golden Demon painting competition in 2006. You can see more pictures of 'Fire and Ice' and my other miniatures at www.victorialamb.com

jamemurp, it's based on Sorcha, but not actually made from her. I would've gone to my grave swearing that it WAS a Sorscha model if she hadn't said that it was hand-sculpted around an assassin's torso!
