It looks to me like you could stand to thin your paints down a bit. If you do, you'll get a much smoother coat and wont end up with as many rough patches or brush strokes like what's visible from the top down view. And with transfers, I find that if, after application, I paint a thin coat of gloss varnish over them it helps to seal them a bit better and give a uniform appearance. You can always selectively dull them afterward too. :)
