Midnight Brood Zoanthrope

This is my first half-decent paint job on a tyranid. I came up w/ the color scheme on my own because I wanted to try something new and didn't like any of the other schemes for 'nids that I have seen.Tried to make the head piece look like it was glowing with psychic energy. Don't worry about the gray stuff on the top of the head, it is putty to keep the head piece from falling off. Looking forward to comments :D -Cheers!

Nice scanner image...try using a camera. I can see the mottle of where you (I assume) were trying not to blend but rather contrasting the shift of psychic energy. I agree though, blending is a better way to go, and since it is a 'nid, AND psychic energy...try a narrower spectrum, like green to purple and back to green or yellow to red and back to red. This might make it easier to blend, and easier to reproduce. Like a way to mark out your Psychic 'Nids.

i think the head piece is pretty good, though the blending is a little off, what i found works is take the middle color and water it down a whole lot and paint that over the whole section of that color. (so if you used dark blue, blue, and light blue you would use blue) the rest of the model looks good too i like the colors you chose on the body

Nice fig, but the headpiece needs better blending! Oh, and the photo is a bit too dark to rate it properly....what about a different perspective?
