This mini was produced by a local Kansas City producer, it was the subject of a painting competition that I am proud to say I won. I painted him in this theme after a trip to Japan inspired me as to how "elven" the Japanese peoples and culture can be.

I hope you don't think I'm being harsh giving it a 7, but, as far as your acrylic paint skills go I feel this is fair. The highlighting is too stark and generally you'd benefit from more shading to contrast the highlights. The face is a good example of where more shading in the right places would bring this guy to life a little more. Having said that, I'm making a comment because I love where you were going with this guy! Great idea! The bamboo, fish and roses are very cool! It ain't rocket science - so when your physical skills match your ideas and concepts I predict you're going to be kicking ar$e in the nine score territory. Keep painting man!
