Necron Flayed Ones
Just some of my flayed ones from my army, the little plants look much better and far less "spongy" in person. I know they're a bit redder than most, but I don't think a flayed skin would look as, well, alive as the GW interpretation. After I painted up the metal parts I put a thinned down coat of Mechrite Red over the black basecoat, then highlighted that with some deeper red (just some Blood Red and a dash of Chaos Black). After that I highlighted further with pure Blood Red, and dry brushed some Dwarf Flesh over the skins before highlighting that with a mixture of Dwarf Flesh and Skull White. Finally, once that dried I did a coat of gloss varnish over all the flesh for a nice wet look. About a three hour process per mini. Suggestions/comments welcome. :)
