OZ GD 08 Finalist - Dark Angel Space Marine Captain

Hey guys, Here is a picture of one of my entries into the Australian Golden Demon competition for 2008, for the Warhammer 40K Medium Miniature Category. The overall impression of the model is good, the colors and the base fit in. A bit distracting is, that the fluid on the base has the same color as the armor. There is only one color that cathces the eye on the whole model, a bit to flat for my taste. The non-armor parts could have used some more complimentary colors, to add more depth The shading on the armor is good, but much to bright. It seems to be glowing in some kind, and not really metallic. The color itself is also much to bright for an Dark Angel - as theis names say, they are used to dark colors ^^ I like the waethering an scratches on the armor and the clean letters on the banner. The Skinn is also good,i see a bit of unshaven beard and a nice expression ion his face. I really disklike the sword, from this angle, it appears flat and to lack detail. The chain robe is also a bit flat and simple, as is thebanner top. It seems to be done in a rush, so that on the back, teh chains are simply black. Anyhow, the complete back of the model seems to lack the attetion you have given to the front. The base is ok, but the stripes are sloppy So, I ll give you a 7 for a good work that seems to have been rushed a little
