Thanks, dargrin, I appreciate that. I'm sure you would have taken the top prize if not for a left turn at Albuquerque, though. :-) I agree on the darklining, and those are very good suggestions. I tried a greenish blue on the skin, but there's too much contrast in the photos to show it, making it look like solid black. I'll try to account for that, use a different color and keep it more tightly controlled on the next piece.
I think the smooth blending is what realy does it for me. As a suggestion I would see a bit too much black lining around the arms and the legs. Perhaps a deeper red around the arms and maybe even a gray around the legs. Good luck in the contest. I'll be pulling for you.
