Karakara Beast

These predators of the plains often travel in packs, scavenging the kills of other predators much like hyenas. They will take advantage of an easy kill if the odds are in their favor. Their vestigial wings are too small for flight, but they will often extend and retract them while hunting as if signaling to one another. So this is actually a slightly modified gryphon from the Grenadier Monsters of Mythology boxed set - I based the plumage loosely on the Karakara falcon. Hope you like it!

I like this one a lot. Pretty good job at the eyes and I like the different colours of the body, also base turned out very nice. Good job!!

This really gives the impression of a living creature. And the base is amazingly convincing, I can never get static grass to behave enough to look like this :(

Beautiful basing! I love what you did with the colors, looks very realistic as opposed to contrived. I also like a lot what you did in this wingless situation! I had the same miniature somewhere, but I think only one wing. It gives me ideas what could be done without the wings!
