Salamander Captain (GDUK08 Single 40K mini entry)

This is my Salamander Captain that I entered into GDUK08 after much badgering from my mates. In fact it's the only reason I went to Games Day. One of the guys at my local GW shop said someone posted it here, but I can't find it. Thinking I should start putting things up here I decided to post him. By some miracle he got past the first round and by the end of the day was sitting on the shelf below the trophy winners (if that means anything). Lady on the 'Eavy Metal team said he was nice, but I rekon she was lying to be polite. Hopefully I should have something half decent for next year when I actually paint a model with the intention of entering it, rather than this guy who is played with. Sorry about the photo quality (now updated, but still poo).

Very cool conversion. It could use some bright flame patterns here and there to really make it "pop" so to speak. Bright yellow eyes perhaps. I would like to see the green Salamander emblem on his stomache white as well.

I like this, the armour is nice and the claws are really well done. Overall its a well thort out piece. Only way i think it could be improved is perhaps a bit more detail on the base and a spray of dullcote. But hey with this new line of sight rule i think the big tall bases are a thing of the past. Really nice work here!
