Wood Elf. Life after Death.....

Had this wood elf figure lying around and decided to try something different and get busy with some green stuff. Some inspiration from Salvador Dahli's painting 'The metamorphosis of narcissus'.... the flower blooming from an egg. Wood Elves have a dark, feral side to their nature. They suffer none who would do elfkind harm ,or, that trespass uninvited into their sacred glades. Yet, from violent death springs life..... One 'egg-plant' is feeding on the corpse of some unlucky soul, its petals dripping blood. The other plant has withered and gone to seed, having feasted well and drained its corpse-food to a skeleton.

concept is better than the execution. i agree with the rock comments. the painting is good though (although he rock highlighting could do with toning down. good stuff though

The painting is great and the concept is provocative. I agree that the roots are to tentacle-like (tentaclesque?). Perhaps they should have been more like the vine on the elf's cloak. The egg-plants and tetaclesque roots give the base a very alien-world scifi feel that doesn't quite capture the spirit of warhammer, though it absolutely captures its grimness.

Very cool idea with the base. I think the roots might be just a hair over the top, a little too tentacly at first glance (though maybe that's what you're going for, but I think it distracts a bit from the plants and the feeding). The paint job is nice also, though I find the extreme edge highlighting on the rocks makes them look artificial. The face and hair on the elf are very nice.
