Saim-Hann Wraithlord

This is the Wraithlord that I painted for my friend as a sort-of commission for him. It was a combo birthday/commission you could say. He wanted a Saim-Hann Wraithlord with a sword and it is what he got. I tried positioning his legs and arms in a vaguely samurai-esque pose. Those keen-eyed amongst you might've noticed that I haven't stuck slavishly to teh GW Saim-Hann colour scheme. This is because of the black pennants. With all that black on the back, adding more black by painting the back spines that colour, would've looked really weird. This way, it is more balanced. The colours used (Over a white undercoat): Red armour: Mechrite Red base - Devlan Mud wash - Blood Red highlight - 50/50 mix of Blood Red and Blazing Orange - Blazing Orange - Blazing Orange + 1 drop of Dwarf Flesh extreme highlight - Baal Red wash Black pennants: Chaos Black base - 2 parts Chaos Black+ 1 part Codex Grey + 1 part Scaly Green - add Grey and Green for successive highlights - Badab Black wash Gems: Black base - Scaly Green - 2 turn of highlights by adding Fortress Grey to Scaly Green. Be careful with the grey! Any further questions on the colours, feel free to ask. Or just comment on what you think. And I know. I can ALWAYS improve. That's kinda why I'm here... And, yeah, he was happy with it.
