Gotta go with Dragonssreach here... very good work for your first bust. I really like the reds, the chainmail... only got the feeling of something wrong here too... guess you could go more in areal blends to avoid this... overall this is a really nice piece, done with the known skillfull hand of yours... in the end, don't let you down of some comments - just keep it up... i guess your next bust will flash a lot more! This is a nice piece, howeever big one thing catches my eye and holds it making it look "wrong" and that is the clear "philtrum" under the nose. It looks to pale and without any shadow darkening of the skin tone. I find that over all the skin is a little lacking in tonal variation making the face look rather youthful for such a strong shape (and grey'd beard). Good strong creditable work on a larger piece. Taking a step up in scale makes things harder to work with.
