sniper chick
This was my entry for the Chick Challenge 2008, an online contest revitalised and now run by the Italian painting community of the Legio Pictorum forums. You can see the CC official site here: http://www.farabi.it/ChCh/index.htm I was very surprised to win the 'International Jury Best of Show' award, a real honour for me to win an award in the first year of the new CC comp. The miniature is a sculpt by Cyril Abati, and I was given this resin copy by Emanuele Giovagnoni (poupee canope) at Francesco's (franciuus) house when I visited Italy last year, so because it already had some 'Italian' history, I thought it might be a nice entry for the new Italian-run CC competition. The figure itself is very small, true 28mm just like the GW LOTR minis. I tried to paint her in different colours and in a different way to my usual painting, to try to disguise her a little in the anonymous competition (jsut for fun!). Slightly more of a 'cyril' style of painting perhaps, in tribute to the sculptor. :)
