Forge World Thousand Sons Dreadnought

I was trying to capture some backstory from the chaos codex when modeling this guy. Not sure if everyone has read it or not, but they chain up Chaos Dreadnought's in between fights so they don't go rampant, killing everyone around them. The base was scratch build from green stuff putty, as was the battery pack and end cap. In the alcove behind his head, I drilled through the model and placed a 5mm green LED (more photos to follow) that casts a green halo around his head when lit. The lighting in the pictures doesn't show it that well, so I'll post more photos later of the lighting effects. The chains were aged in a 50/50 bleach/vinegar solution for about 5-6 days until surface rust began to form and cling to them. As for the painting, I tried to capture the age of the Thousand Sons, seeing as how recruiting is almost nil... Anyways, enjoy!

This dreadnought looks really nice, your paintjob is good. I like the idea with the chains, I just think the chain wound around the torso looks somehow deplaced, but that´s just my taste. The idea with the LED is great, please post some pics where we can see it in action.

In response to Vampyre's remark, when I was assembling the model, I asked myself, "How much chain would it take to begin to restrain a dreadnought?"

Forgeworld models are expensove like hell, GW models are getting pricier by the year, our great hobby will die.
