LBC Contest Space Marine

Well, here's my entry for the Legio Bolter and Chainsword contest (voting ended on the 7th of March), Brother Veteran Atreu of the Aurora Chapter. This contest was a little bit restrictive, requiring the use of certain colors (black armor, blood red weapons and helmet), and particular weaponry (bolter and chainsword), in addition to the silly Deathwatch pad. I'm disappointed in the results of the overall voting, but I really can't say all that much, as you weren't allowed to vote for your own entry (and I thought mine fit the overall requirements of the contest the best, so... *watch out for egotism here*). All three winning entries had NMM, which I feel looks out of place on a Space Marine, so mine uses traditional metallic paints. As for parts, this guy uses bits from the Chaos Space Marines sprue, Tactical Squad sprue, and Assault Squad sprue, as well as the metal Deathwatch pad. Nothing really serious as far as conversion work is concerned, as this was supposed to be a basic Space Marine (so no jumping through the air or off of metal pieces sticking from the ground...) Anyhoo, I thought I'd share the entry, comments are always welcome and encouraged. Joe

the metallics look great on this mini. i prefer NMM to regular metallics as long as the NMM is done well. though well done actual metallics do look great too.

NMM is merely a fad that will, for the most part, pass as the (idiotic) checkers pattern did

Yeah, I didn't particuraly like the Marines jumping off of walls. I also don't really like the NMM.. So what if it takes more skill to paint? :P The other minis (No offense, they were great, but) all had NMM. I'd like to tell you that your mini got my 1st place vote. :P All in all, very crisp painting and very nice colors on the black/green/red, and the face too.
