Black Knights

This is a group of Vampire Count's Black Knights that is part of a recent army we did. We thought these looked worthy of scrutiny :) All of the models have been converted to fit onto these cool Wight Lord metal horses. They're barded and hunched down which is a lot better than the cheap plastic ones they're provided with. The downside is they're $8 each plus GW shipping. All in all, though, I'd say it's worth it :) The leader of the group was converted from an old "Red Duke" Vampire figure that went out with 5th edition. He's had a head swap to the cracked skull and his fingernails were filed down so they didn't look all vampy. I really think the model looks better as a Wight! We also repositioned the horse to make it far more dynamic than as provided. It's a tough horse too, I was sure it would break with what we were putting it through! The premise is a young mage sought to extend his life through dark magic... and on his quest for knowledge decided he needed some followers. He found a small island country and turned it's inhabitants into minions... and now he leads an army of fishermen and animals turned powerful through death.

The contrasting colours work really well together. The banner and shields should be swapped out for the current grave guard ones, Excellent conversion of old Walach Harkon (The Red Duke), you're completly right, he does look better as a wight! All in all, you've done a top-notch job & you should be proud

Great paint job ! BUt maybe you should have taken the picture from the front of the unit. PLus I think a little bit of conversion on those horses would do somme good. It bothers me to see all those horses exactly the same. And that banner also looks a bit empty for me.
