Already a battle hardened marine just prior to the Kraken wars. He regularly drills his combat squad in maximising their boltgun fire. Game wise, the fiction is very close to the truth. Junos and his four men have regularly whittled down foes and blown away light vehicles with massed bolter fire, putting to shame my specialist squads. "Send these foul abominations unto the Emperor to be judged brothers!" roared Chaplain Dius as the traitors closed in. "Nay Brother-Chaplain, he is busy watching over our small band today! Let our boltguns judge the unworthy!" Junos interjected with a warrior's mirth, then fired.
