Nurgle Sorceress

This is my first attempt at sculpting a model from scratch with Green Stuff. The camera actually shows a lot of flaws that are hard to see with the naked eye. I am quite proud of it but would love it if some more experienced sculptors could give me some hints as to where I need to work on and how to go about it.

Thanks for the comments and advice. The arms were the biggest disappointment for me. Couldn't seem to get them to come out how I wanted them and had problems with getting the right proportions. Anyway...on to the next one and see if I can't improve on this one.

I'm not an experienced sculptor, but you might have more luck getting feedback from some if you post in the submissions or WIP sections of the forums here, or in the sculpting forums at http://www.reapermini.com. I think this is a great job for a first scratch model!

The camera does "add ten pounds", you know... :P Her proportions seem pretty good, but the anatomy overall is awkward. Arms and legs are at odd angles, and the shoulders especially seem just a tad off to me. It's a good start though, and there's not much you can do for that except to sculpt (and draw!) more. The face is perhaps indistinct; it would be good to cut the details deeper so they stand out more - if you look at pro models up close the details are often shockingly deep, especially in faces. And it looks really good. This appears to be quite smooth, which is surprising and good for a first time. My advice if you want to improve is, just keep at it, sculpt lots and practice realistically drawing people - no "formulas" to follow or tutorials, try to draw exactly the light and shade that you see. Hope some of that is helpful. Feel free to PM me if I haven't expressed myself clearly or you want to ask about anything. :P
