The conversion is great and there is nothing wrong with the choice of weapons. However, the paint looks a tad heavy on areas like the wings- my bet is that if your friend thinned his paints he'd see a huge improvement to his already considerable skills

The 'fanboy' weaponry criticism escapes me. I think this is well converted and well painted. IMO it's not a '9' but easily falls into 7 - 8.
