Ragnor(one year later)

It was suggested that I get another shot of the front, so I did and I'm reposting this. It was a year ago in September (2006) that I painted my very first miniature, Ragnor the Barbarian from Reaper. It was definitely a fun experience and ignited the passion (obsession?) for miniature painting. I always said that I wanted to go back and paint another one to see how I had progressed and I finally got the chance. If you're interested in seeing how the first one turned out, it's here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/175443

base and paint job are done quite well. the hair begins to show more details and the skin is starting to look more defined. i still want to see it pushed a bit more in value and i think it would be a much stronger piece. 6.4

@FM: I absolutely want comments and I appreciate you and TBS taking the time to do so. Thanks for the advice! As I said, I still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there thanks to the helpful pointers I get.

solid paint. you wanted comments: skin and boots look good, but the eyes look a bit shakey and the face lacks range in color (lips, cheeks, nose, eyes have subtle color variations); which is important because it should be the focal point. additionaly, the hair could use some "hot spots" and your metallics should be shaded and hilighted.
