Empire free company
"Proud barbarian chieftans usually look a bit confused, whene they see their tall muscular marauders being masacrated by some much smaller and weaker cutthroats that accompany empire armies. These free companies looks like inferior bandits. Some of them are quite old, some suffer by malnutrition. Their equipment looks like a rambling collection of scavenged weapons. But each of these asocials and rogues is veteran of many battles (and bar brawls) and their dirty tricks taught many fierce nothern warriors last lesson of their life." So another unit for my Empire army is done. I am quite satisfied with the result, the only question is if the ratio 2 hours per 1 point is adequate. :-) Each of the fighters is at least slightly converted and I spend quite a lot of time with posing them to make them look good togather as a unit. I hope that it was worth to. My army is painted in the colours of Nordland, but the free companies are irregular troops. The yellow ties the unit with the rest of the army, while the absence of blue should make it look less organized and united then the state troops. My favourit model is the bellman in long coat with his trusty rottweiler. I had tu made him special base in unusual format 2 x 4cm so that I can put the dog on slip. I hope you like it.
