i experimented with slightly different styles of blending on this mini, and i think it turned out rather well. I added a razor wire design to the bottom of his cloak after i saw a guy with a similar tatoo and decided it would fit saruman perfectly. and the writings on the base are from the ring of power. Little update: I took first with this at conquest painting competition 2003 in the single miniature catagory. Another update: I got a bronze in the LA golden deamons, although the pic on gw's site sucks balls.

The freehand designs are fine. They don't look "modern" at all, which is why they are such popular tattoos...

Gilvan Blight
Very bery nice. Great work on the slightly smaller than normal scale. Only one critique: The gem/sphere in the staff looks flat. A personal note: the tribal markings look a little modern on a historical fantasy figure.
