Gorbad Ironclaw

I now post the infamous "Plan-B" Gorbad Ironclaw... Assembled on a Tuesday, Undercoated Wednesday, Painted Thursday afternoon & Friday night... entered on the Saturday! I wanted my Medium entry to be very GW this year... my intended entry, a Warrior Priest was very bright, vibrant, strong and detailed... so when I had to do a new entry I picked Gorbad, a model I wanted to paint since the 'Eavy Metal guide in White Dwarf. With time restrictions and my creativity flame running a little low I simply followed the guide, with the exception of a couple of Foundation Paint range replacements for mixes of the same shade, and the 'Bensquig" symbol on Gnarla's armour rather than the 'bad moon'... The colours are all very strong. The model has that... Hobbiton kind of feel where things are "Greener than green, bluer than blue". It's not my normal style which is why I had a crack at it and tried not to bring anything of my normal painting into it! I did bring the skin up a little as it was getting lost; same colours just a slightly lighter mix than the guide. The freehand could have been tighter, neater... but it was 3am!
