Muscle Beach
Not great photos (I seem to say that a lot) but a mini I'm very happy with. It was for a comp with the theme of "muscles" so I thought this clay golem fitted the bill. The original paintjob I had on him was ruined by a bad ink wash so I redid him in flesh colours and based him on an experimental beach scene made by mixing flock, pva and paint. The flesh was worked up in a long series of glazes and the sea was finished with a little ink and water effects to get a wet look (not sure it comes across too well in the photos though). Incidentally, he won the comp (thanks to matching the theme more than the painting)
