Old One Eye

I'm quite pleased with how the mud on the base turned out- used modelling clay and a mixture of vomit brown paint & chestnut ink, waterdown and soaked in. And lots of gloss.

Wish that i could give a higher rating for this but the camera never pics up the "slick wet" look well with inks (i know ive tried). However I quite like the base but am thinking that the black areas might need some highlighting aswell.

Thx for the comments - I will see if i can get a pic with less glare. as for the shiniyness (is that a word?), i have themed my army to look slimy & slick, coated with mucus and stuff like the movie Alien. I *might* experiment with a darker wash though. Hmm. watch this space.

Hmm... It looks a touch bit shiny. You might want to try a coat of dullcoat or at least a matte varnish. It would reduce the glare and make it easier to get a good look at the mini. Your color scheme looks pretty good. I like the rich wine red color. Try giving it a wash with a darker red and then some highlights. I think that would improve the mini quite a bit. Good start though, and a very nice base.
