Thunderbolt Mountain Wood Elf Noble with Display Base
As most other will tell you, you really need to see these Tom Meier figs in person to appreciate the amazing technical skill involved in sculpting them. I believe these were the first "true" 30mm scale figure I've seen, much less painted. Please keep in mind when voting that the details on this fig are fully half as small than those on most other manufacturers. The display base is a diptych. I wanted to display both the mounted and foot versions of the fig together in the same scene, but I wanted to emphasize that they different versions of the same character. The diagonal break in the scene is for that purpose. I did this project in late 2006 for Carin and Tom Meier and for a tutorial as part of TMP's workbench series. The article, in three parts, can be seen here: http://theminiaturespage.com/workbench/799708/ http://theminiaturespage.com/workbench/242961/ http://theminiaturespage.com/workbench/565783/ Multi-angle views of each fig and more detailed shots of the base are also in my gallery. Let me know what you think, thanks!
