Hordes Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight Conversion
Commission job, converted and painted way back in October, 2006. The goal was the convert Thagrosh about half way toward the pose seen in his card illustration, with his fist in the snow, and then match the color scheme to illustration as closely as possible. Conversion involved cutting his right arm into six pieces and reassembling, with many armor and leather details needing to be resculpted. Overall I'm really happy with how this turned out, and I think I like the pose better than either the card art or the original pose, kind of a best of both worlds. The iridescent sheen of the armor was achieved by using rich dark purples in the shadows, with highlights that progress through blue to a greenish hue at their lightest. Overall was striving for an ice cold mood. Let me know what you think, thanks!
