Army of the Dead - Silver Demon GDLA 2007

Some of the photos are from Games Workshop, the closeups were taken by me. I was pretty happy with how this group turned out. I wanted to do something unique, and I had only seen painted versions of these models that had been painted green and drybrushed grey, so I tried putting a little more color in them. I used a jade-green glaze in certain areas to try and get a "ghostly" feel, I think it looks the best on the back of the king's cloak. I tried some transparency painting, but there wasnt too many areas I could really do it on. You can see some on the warrior with the sword, where his chainmail tabard is showing through his robe, and some of the woodgrain showing through on the front of the shield. Bases were done in plaster. I poured out a thin layer of it on a paper plate, and when it dried, I broke it up in pieces and engraved tiles on it. I think it's a pretty easy and effective basing method. I may make a tutorial for it sometime. Proud to say these guys brought home a silver demon in GDLA 2007. That was the toughest GD for me yet, I think! :) C&C is greatly appreciated as usual, I always try to return the favor.

Congrats on your silver! I like that you didn't overdo the glowy-green and how you were able to use other colours to create a ghostly feel. You should definitely put up a tutorial on your bases, sounds simple and effective. Cheers!

Congrats on a job very well done. I'm especially impressed by the way you have made them look almost non-existing, I can nearly see through them
