Crypt Wraith

I painted this guy recently for a on-going D&D campaign. I'd had him sitting around for what seems like forever before I decided how I wanted him to look. I'm glad I waited, as I've gotten pretty good at painting the wood backing on shields. I've also taken some time to learn how to use washes effectively, tho I believe this picture doesn't show it very well. Anyway, since wraiths are supposed to hate light, I used blues for the "there but not" feel of something skulking about in the dark. He looks a little on the plain side, but I didn't want to make him too fancy. The rock under his foot is actually part of the sculpted base, but I decorated the rest of it with sand and static grass. Comments? (Yes, I know the weapon is bent.....)

I've always loved these missing body figures; I've painted up 4 versions from Reaper so far. The cloth on this one doesn't look as easy to paint as some of their other wraith figures, and the end result is that the highlighting is a bit harsh, but I'm not sure how else it would be done. (I think my main complaint is that it goes from a dark blue to a light blue, and doesn't have any noticable true blue coloring.) I like the back of the shield, but I wonder is it could look even more wood-like with one or two thin lines of a higher highlight; I'd have to see a finished product to be sure, and I don't think you should mess with the shield on this one.
