Photos make most of the score on CMON. Read the articles section to see how to improve the pictures. There is a great article on photoshop which is also posted in the articles section. You can get and use gimp for free, just ask in the forums and someone will help. Finally, post a little note in the submissions section of the forum and you will get a lot more comments and advice.
I like the work on the green sash and the lower portion of his tunic (the blue). When you try NMM it helps to get a greater contrast between the shadows and the highlights. I'm not fond of the robe colour and it seems close to the colour of the moustache. The shield symbol is a good start. Perhaps go and touch it up with the background colour on the shield, sharpening up the detail and evening it out a little. The eyes look a bit starey - but they point in the same direction (something I'm not guaranteed to achieve).
